A couple sits at a dining table, their meals untouched. The man's eyes burn with anger as he glares at his wife. "You are horrible," he says, his voice thick with disgust.
She flinches under his gaze, but doesn't back down. "What did I do now?"
"You know exactly what you did." He slams his hand on the table, making the dishes rattle. "You've been cheating on me!"
She gasps, shock turning to denial. "That's not true!"
He pushes his chair back and stands up, towering over her. "Don't lie to me!" He grabs her wrist roughly, pulling her closer. Their bodies are inches apart now, their breaths mingling.
"I'm not lying," she whispers. "I swear." "I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."
