In a private meeting with his boss, Hennessy tries to explain how he lost the client's contract. His screw-up wasn't typical and he's truly sorry. He admits to drinking too much at lunch, but didn't think it would affect his work. His boss, however, isn't impressed by his excuses. She is known for her strictness and ruthlessness in the workplace.
Hennessy leaves the office feeling humiliated and dejected. As he walks past his empty cubicle, he notices a photo on his desk of him in college, smiling at some friends. His eyes well up with tears as he wonders if he'll ever redeem himself in this company.
