As Carla dialed the number, her heart raced with anticipation. She couldn't believe she was about to ask her nephew for such a personal favor. When Brandon picked up, she struggled to find the words to begin the conversation. Finally, she took a deep breath and blurted out her request.
"Brandon, I need your help getting pregnant."
There was a long pause on the other end of the line as Brandon processed her words. He was surprised but not entirely shocked – Carla had always been open about her sexual desires.
"Are you serious, Aunt Carla?" he asked, trying to keep the excitement out of his voice.
"Yes, I am," she replied. "I want this baby so badly, and I don't want to involve another man – especially not your father."
Brandon felt a mixture of emotions – nervousness, excitement, and a hint of relief. He knew he couldn't deny his feelings for her, or the desire to be a part of their child's life. "I understand how you feel," he said softly, "but I still want to be here for us."
