As I awkwardly entered through the unlocked door, the room was still dark except for the faint rays of sunshine that managed to squeeze through the curtains. I could hear her soft snores coming from under the rumpled covers on the bed. Silently, I crept towards her, careful not to disturb the peaceful slumber I had interrupted.
Suddenly, I heard a faint murmur from beneath the sheets - it sounded like she was talking in her sleep. I couldn't resist the temptation any longer; I gently shook her shoulder and whispered her name into her ear.
"Huh?" She blinked her eyes open, looking around confusedly. As she focused on me, her confusion turned to shock and horror. "W-What are you doing here?" She tried to hide herself under the covers, but I grabbed her wrist firmly and pulled her out of bed. "You know why I'm here," I answered, my voice cold and resolute.
